Why is my chime not working after setup?

- Ringtone: Press the Ringtone ▲/▼ buttons to cycle through 32 melodies. The last one you hear is the one that's saved. Or adjust it in SmartLife
- Silent alerts: Select "Chime Flash" as the Chime Alert Mode action in your Google Home
Factory Reset
- SmartLife → Tap your chime
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner
- Remove Device → Remove and Clear Data
- Confirm → Done
Why can't I connect the Chime to my Wi-Fi?
A: Don't panic! Most modern US routers combine 2.4G and 5G into one Wi-Fi name, and your phone prefers 5G.
The Fix: Plug the chime into an outlet farther away from your router and stand there with your phone. 5G signals are short-range, so walking away forces your phone to connect to the long-range 2.4G signal. Once paired, you can move the chime anywhere!
I got a new Wi-Fi router, or my chime went offline. How do I reconnect?
A: Simply reset the chime to reconnect it. Please follow these steps:
- Press and hold the Volume button on the side for about 5s until the red light starts flashing.
- Open the SmartLife app to add the device again.
Important Note: After reconnecting the chime to your Wi-Fi, you may need to re-establish its connection with your smart home routines:
- For Nest doorbell: Create a new Scene within the SmartLife app. Then add the new scene to your routine in the Google Home app.
- For Ring / Blink doorbell: Open your existing Routine in the Alexa app. Under the "ALEXA WILL" section, tap ➕ Add another action to include the Chime.
Is there a delay between the doorbell press and the chime ringing?
A: It depends on your doorbell type:
- Wired doorbells: Nearly instant.
- Battery doorbells: Expect a 3-5s delay.
Why the delay?
To save battery, wireless doorbells "sleep" and must "wake up" when pressed to send a signal. This short wake-up period is a standard power-saving feature for almost all battery doorbells.
Is a subscription required?
A: 100% Subscription-Free.
This device works fully out of the box with no monthly fees. While the app may offer premium plans (like Cloud Storage or SMS alerts), these are completely optional. You can safely skip them and enjoy all core features for free.
